This bathroom presented several unexpected challenges during the refurbishment process. The underfloor, previously sprayed with expanding foam, combined with a leak, resulted in three joists rotting. Additionally, the wall plate showed significant signs of wear, and the mortar between the brickwork behind the toilet had deteriorated. All of these issues required careful repair and reinforcement before any refurbishment work could begin, ensuring the structural integrity and longevity of the bathroom renovation.

A small toilet space under the stairs can still be beautiful.
